Christmas Cards!

Jen and Paul were one couple that sure kept me busy this year. Save the dates, shower invites, three sets of invitations, extras for three occasions, and when I thought we were all done...then Christmas Cards! I love being able to carry a theme throughout so many items. We tied in their wedding color scheme of cream, brown and green and used a photo from their Australian wedding.

Erica & Bill's Information Card

Erica emailed me last week when she couldn't find a printer to print turquoise for her letters. She knew mine did! Erica and Bill's destination wedding is approaching and they wanted to send out a letter to each of the guests that is attending. I suggested that we do a folded card and customize each with the guest's name inside. The design followed the same these as the invitations and thank you notes.

Christine's Baby Shower Invitations - Baby Feet!

I worked with Kathleen earlier this year on her wedding invitations and she asked me to do baby shower invitations for her friend's shower. We wanted to tie in baby blue so everyone would know it was a boy. Kathleen wanted a sophisticated baby theme. First, we started with animals to match the bedding, then decided to go with baby feet! Here is the end product, complete with coordinating direction insert and blue envelopes.

Laura & Mike's Save-the-Date

Laura and Mike are getting married at a castle next year and we thought it would be fun to pull in the castle theme into the save-the-date. We used quartz metallic cardstock with brown and green printing that will tie together with their invitations. I did guest addressing of the envelopes and tied in the bride and groom graphic on the envelope.

A new look for Elegance on Paper!

I am happy to announce the official launch of our new website - www.EleganceonPaper.com, complete with a brand new look! Check it out!

Press from Australia!

Jen and Paul's Wedding in Sydney, Australia was showcased by WOW Magazine, an Australian wedding magazine. I did many items for this wedding, but the cork placecards were featured in the magazine. Jen had the vineyard save corks which she used to make DIY placecard holders. I love that they used nicknames for everyone - especially the bride - "Jenny Mac." I've included a picture above of the other reception items I created for the event.

Jen & Paul's Boston & UK Parties

I forgot to post all the extras I did for Jen & Paul's Boston and UK parties! Since they had their wedding in Sydney Australia, Jen wanted to be able to have a way to show pictures to the guests at the UK party. I suggested we do a large collage of photos. Also for the UK party, I did thank you notes and a few signs - one for the guest book and one for taking a shawl since it was an outdoor party. Jen also had photos of them and both of their parents on their wedding date so I did cards showing names and dates.

For Boston party, we did "Test your knowledge of Jen & Paul" quizzes (asking things like where they met, where he proposed, where they were honeymooning as well as many fun facts about the couple). We did a favor card for the Boston sugar cookies, guest book sign, wedding date placecards, thank you notes and finally - one of my favorites. For the hospitality bags, we did custom "Welcome to Boston" tags incorporating their theme.

Ashley & Steve's Reception Extras

To match Ashley & Steve's invitations, we incorporated brown, green and opal metallic papers. She chose bright green menus to add some color to the reception tables. I made simple table numbers for Ashley to frame using names from all around Boston. Lastly, I did a custom seating chart to display the seating arrangements.

Kerri & Michael's Winter Wedding Invitations

Kerri's main color is red and instead of using cardstock & print color to show it, we used ribbon corners and envelopes. We used a snow white metallic cardstock mounted on a charcoal grey cardstock with the scarlet red ribbon corners. Perfect for a December winter wedding. I tied together the three inserts using the red ribbon as well. Kerri wanted double envelopes, so I did custom liners with the white metallic paper for her bold red inner envelopes and did plain white outer envelopes.

Erica & William's Destination Wedding Invitations

Erica & Bill were my first destination wedding. Erica wanted to incorporate palm trees, but didn't want it over the top. We decided to pull in the turquoise using ribbon and used this beautiful sand colored metallic paper. The colors truly are those of the Caribbean. I did custom printed envelope liners and guest addressing on the envelopes. We kept it simple with just two inserts, sending guests to their wedding website for travel info. Lastly, thank you notes are also incorporated into their theme.

Laura & Bryan's Orange Sunset Party

Laura & Bryan had a small wedding on Cape Cod, then had a big party to celebrate with all their friends and family. This is the invitation set for the after-party. We continued a similar theme of orange & yellow, as well as the same fonts & sun ray design. We opted to use plain white paper so it wasn't as formal looking as the wedding. I also addressed the envelopes and carried the sun ray design over.

Mike & Melissa's Brown & Burgundy Wedding

Melissa & Mike wanted to tie the invites to everything for the ceremony & reception. We did personal menus, table numbers which they framed, programs and a seating chart. The seating chart was my first ever and it came out great. It was prominently displayed in the lobby when guests walked in. Menus, table numbers and programs were all made from opal metallic cardstock and incorporated brown and burgundy in the text and ribbon colors.

What's happening at Elegance on Paper

It's been busy lately working on lots of new projects and a new website, but thought I would give a hit of what's to come...

Wedding collages - 2 brides have had smaller weddings with larger parties later. Both have asked me to use their wedding photos and design a large collage for display at their parties.

Jamaican Destination wedding...palm trees, sand colored metallic paper and turquoise ribbon to tie in the color of the Caribbean ocean.

Winter Wedding - envision snow white and charcoal metallic papers with scarlet red ribbon corners...it's both elegant and wintery...

Stay tuned for the launch of my new website, holiday card ordering, and some new baby announcement designs!

Thank You!

One big item this year has been thank you notes. This is a great addition to any set of invitations -whether it be for a wedding, shower or baby. Alternatively, it doesn't have to be for any special occasion. I can create personalized stationery just for you as well. All these folded notes, which are 5.5" x 4.5" and come with coordinating envelopes. I can also do return address and recipient address for an extra fee.

Seating Charts - New Product Highlight!

Posted by Picasa

This is a new product that I am so excited to introduce - Seating Charts! Instead of the standard placecards, I can design a 36" x 24" seating chart. They make a statement and also reduce clutter in your tables. Seating charts can be customized with menus, monograms, bridal party info...pretty much anything you want!

I suggest buying your own frame so you can keep it and possibly display in your home. Don't forget your AC Moore coupon for great savings! Alternatively, you can rent my black frame for $30. At the reception, you'll mount this on an easel, which most reception locations will have. I can provide discounted pricing when ordering more than one chart.

Laura & Bryan's Sunset Wedding

Laura contacted me to do her invites for 2009, then emailed saying they decided to get married this year - with only a 4 month engagement! So we moved up the consult and I started designing right away. She choose some very bold colors and I love the way it came out. They decided to have a small ceremony and reception for close friends and family and then have a big party later.

I also designed invitations for their afterparty: Laura & Byran's After Party

Melissa & Mike's Invitations

When I asked what they were looking for, Melissa said "less is more". Elegant, simple, classy. When they came for their consult, they saw Tracy's ribbon cornered invites and said they loved the look. Their color scheme was chocolate brown and cream, but we had a hard time deciding what to do for the ribbon. In the end, we choose a nice burgundy and Melissa might add that into the centerpieces at the wedding. We did 4 stacked inserts, tying them together with burgundy ribbon. I also did the envelope addressing, bringing in the same fonts used on the invitation. They said the compliments keep rolling in, so that makes the hours of carefully adhering the ribbons worth it! :)
